iPad Troubleshooting
Connecting to Wi-Fi:
- To connect the iPad to your home Wi-fi, open settings and go to Wi-Fi section. Ensure Wi-fi is turned on, click on your home network and enter your password. Also ensure Airplane is turned off.
Installing Apps:
- Check with your teacher about which apps you should be using.
- To install RRDSB approved and purchased apps, use the the App Catalog. These apps can be installed without needing an account password provided you have a internet connect.
- If you have requested the app be installed from the app catalog and it doesn’t install within 20 mins, turn the iPad off and on again.
- To do this, press and hold the power button until you see the power off slider.
Prompts for Apple ID password:
- If the iPad is prompting for an Apple ID password, hit cancel until all prompts disappear.
If an app becomes unresponsive try closing the apps and restart your iPad:
- Double tap the Home button to open the app switcher.
- Swipe right or left to scroll through recently used apps and find the app you're looking to close.
- Press and hold the app window, then swipe up (without lifting your finger off the glass) to send it off the screen.
Restart your iPad:
- You can shut down an iPad by holding down the sleep/wake button until you're prompted to "slide to power down."
- The iPad is off once when the screen is completely black.
- Simply press the sleep/wake button to turn on the iPad again.
