Rainy River District School Board

To commemorate the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, the Rainy River District School Board has produced a t-shirt featuring the work of Kristy Cameron, a Métis artist from Atikokan.

Cameron’s design reflects her commitment to integrating Indigenous themes and historical context into her art:

• Fireweed: signifies the strength of resilience.
• Dragonfly: is a symbol of wisdom and the ability to adapt, promoting growth and healing.

All K-12 students from the Rainy River District School Board will be receiving this t-shirt to wear as staff and students walk on Monday, September 30, to remember the lives lost and to reflect on how we can foster reconciliation in our communities.
