Rainy River District School Board Announces Name for New K-12 School
The Rainy River District School Board of Trustees has officially named the new consolidated K-12 school in Rainy River as “Rainy River K-12 School.” This state-of-the-art, $30 million facility is set to open its doors in September 2025, welcoming students for the 2025-2026 school year.
The Rainy River K-12 School Naming Committee carefully reviewed feedback from staff, students, and the community through the ThoughtExchange survey. After completing a process that spanned two months of research and community consultation, the School Naming Committee proposed two possible names, “Rainy River K-12 School” and “Rainy River Public School”.
Decisions regarding the school colors and mascot will be made at the school level.
