Employee Recognition
It is with great appreciation that we congratulate Catherine Bruyere on her upcoming retirement at the end of this semester. Her contributions to students and colleagues have been truly remarkable. Cathy has been a valued member of RRDSB for several years, serving as an English teacher and significantly influencing the Languages department. She has taken the lead in the Advanced Placement English program, the mentorship program, and the student tutorial program at Fort Frances High School. We wish Cathy all the best as she embarks on this new chapter in her life.
Recognition of Excellence
The Spirit of Giving at Fort Frances High School Intermediate
Fort Frances High School Principal Shane Bliss, Vice Principal Kari-Lynn Beckett, teacher Bobbi Guimond-Morris, and some students presented on the Spirit of Giving. They focused on community service and financial literacy. They noted that volunteering can lead to greater happiness. The students selected, purchased, and delivered gifts to residents at Rainycrest Long Term Care Home. They applied their math skills in sales tax and budgeting during this activity. To bring joy to those who may feel alone, they chose gifts like cozy blankets, puzzles, and personal care items, often adding positive notes.
